Grass-Fed Beef, Raised & Butchered on Our Farm

Every cut of Mangaroa beef comes from cattle raised on our regenerative pastures in the Mangaroa Valley near Wellington, then butchered on-farm by our own crew and snap-frozen for delivery. It's 100% grass-fed and pasture-raised, with no added hormones, GMO feed or routine antibiotics — beef with a return address. From everyday mince and quick-cook steaks to weekend roasts and low-and-slow cuts like brisket and short ribs, order online for frozen North Island delivery or free farm-shop pickup. Because it's leaner than grain-fed beef, cook it a touch gentler and rest it well.

Why our beef is different

We raise, butcher and pack everything ourselves on our regenerative farm in the Mangaroa Valley. Our animals are 100% grass-fed and rotationally grazed with Halter virtual fencing, rebuilding soil and biodiversity as they go — a genuinely local, transparent, farm-to-door chain you can trace back to the paddock.

Beef delivery — FAQs

Is your beef grass-fed?

Yes — our cattle are 100% grass-fed and pasture-raised on regenerative pasture in the Mangaroa Valley, rotationally grazed with Halter virtual fencing. No grain finishing, no added hormones, no GMO feed.

How is the beef delivered?

Every order is snap-frozen after butchery and dispatched frozen on Thursday, packed in an insulated box with chill packs and wool insulation. Greater Wellington arrives Thursday; the rest of the North Island goes overnight and arrives Friday. Farm-shop pickup is always free.

How do I cook grass-fed beef?

Grass-fed beef is leaner than grain-fed, so it cooks a little faster. Bring steaks to room temperature, cook over slightly lower heat, pull them a touch early and rest them well. Low-and-slow cuts like brisket and gravy beef love a long, gentle braise.

Where does the beef come from?

Everything is home-grown and home-processed — raised on our Mangaroa Valley farm and butchered on-farm by our own crew after professional slaughter, so every cut is fully traceable back to the paddock.

Can I buy a side of beef or bulk?

Yes — we offer bulk and whole-animal orders. Head to our bulk page to register your interest and we’ll be in touch with cuts, pricing and lead time.
