Why order your meat from Mangaroa

Unlike supermarket meat, every order is fully traceable back to our paddocks. Our cattle and sheep are 100% grass-fed and rotationally grazed with Halter virtual fencing, rebuilding soil and biodiversity as they go. We raise, butcher and pack everything ourselves — a genuinely local, transparent, farm-to-door chain.

Online meat delivery — FAQs

Do you deliver meat across the North Island?

Yes — we deliver regenerative beef and lamb frozen to urban addresses across the North Island. Greater Wellington gets a local frozen delivery on Thursday; the rest of the North Island goes overnight on an NZ Post courier, arriving Friday. We can’t deliver to the South Island or rural addresses just yet.

How much does online meat delivery cost?

Standard delivery is $15 and Express is $25 to North Island urban addresses. Farm-shop pickup is always free. There’s no minimum order.

Is the meat delivered frozen?

Yes. Every order is snap-frozen after butchery and dispatched frozen, packed in an insulated box with chill packs and wool insulation. Overnight North Island orders may arrive partially defrosted but still cold — keep refrigerated and cook within a few days.

When do I need to order by?

Order before 12pm Wednesday for same-week pickup or delivery. Orders after the cutoff are dispatched the following week. All orders leave the farm frozen on Thursday.

Where does your meat come from?

Everything is home-grown and home-processed. Our beef and lamb are raised on regenerative pastures in the Mangaroa Valley near Wellington, and butchered by our own local crew — so every cut is fully traceable back to the paddock.

What makes it regenerative and grass-fed?

Our cattle and sheep are 100% grass-fed and rotationally grazed using Halter virtual fencing, which rebuilds soil, pasture and biodiversity over time. It’s farming that leaves the land better than it found it.
